报告摘要
The 2003 Global School-based Student Health Survey in Swaziland (Shiselweni) focused on assessing adolescent health behaviors among students aged 13-15 years. Conducted using a two-stage cluster sampling design with a school response rate of 96% and student response rate of 99%, it included 1,025 participants. Key areas examined were alcohol and drug use, sexual behaviors linked to HIV/STIs and unintended pregnancies, dietary habits and overweight, hygiene practices, protective factors like school attendance and parental involvement, and unintentional injuries and violence.
Major findings indicated higher risks among boys for alcohol consumption, drug use, risky sexual behaviors, fights, and injuries, while girls showed higher rates of hunger and poor hygiene practices. Protective factors included high school absence rates and moderate parental supervision. These results highlight significant health challenges, particularly for males in these regions, emphasizing needs for targeted interventions.
