报告摘要
Montenegro Diabetes Summary
Montenegro has a total population of 626,000 people and falls into the upper middle income group. The country's diabetes data shows high mortality uncertainty due to reliance on international estimates rather than national data. Diabetes prevalence is 8.7% overall, with significant rates of overweight (58.4%) and obesity (21.4%). Mortality from diabetes and high blood glucose is low, with under 100 deaths attributed to these causes in most age groups. Cardiovascular diseases and cancers are major health concerns, accounting for a large proportion of deaths.
The national response includes an operational policy for diabetes and physical inactivity but lacks guidelines and standard referral criteria. A diabetes registry exists, but there is no recent national risk factor survey measuring blood glucose. Regarding healthcare resources, basic diabetes medicines and technologies like blood glucose measurement are available in primary care, but some procedures like renal replacement therapy are limited.
This summary is based on the WHO Diabetes Country Profiles from 2016.
