The European Banking Authority (EBA) is seeking a Communications Specialist to join the Communications Team of the Policy Coordination Unit (PAC Unit). The position is a fixed-term contract of three years, with the possibility of extension. The candidate will be based in London, United Kingdom, with the expectation of relocation to Paris, France following the EBA's official move.
The vacancy is open until 28 July 2018 at 12 noon London time, and the reserve list is valid until 31 December 2019. The successful candidate will be placed on the reserve list and may be selected for recruitment from it depending on the EBA's needs.
Main Purpose of the Role
The Communications Specialist will support the Communications Team in:
- Developing and delivering internal communications plans to align with the EBA's overall strategy and initiatives.
- Maintaining and updating digital tools such as the internal platform, corporate website, extranet, and media database.
- Assisting in the creation and distribution of content across multiple channels (website, social media, publications).
- Providing administrative and organisational support in areas such as finance, procurement, and general office duties.
Main Responsibilities
- Supporting the development and implementation of internal and external communications strategies.
- Managing the publication cycle for all EBA outputs, including technical documents, multimedia, and printed materials.
- Drafting guidelines and processes for online and printed publications.
- Enhancing CMS web publishing processes through proposed projects and tasks.
- Providing periodical web metrics reporting and analysis.
- Supporting social media activities.
- Monitoring public email boxes and responding to inquiries promptly.
- Managing the budget for communication-related activities.
- Handling other organisational and administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a national of an EU Member State or the EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway).
- Must be entitled to full rights as a citizen.
- Must have completed at least three years of university studies with a diploma.
- Must have at least one year of professional experience in the field of communications.
- Must have excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Must have satisfactory knowledge of another EU language.
- Must be physically fit for the role.
Selection Criteria
- Broad experience in internal communications.
- Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and web activities.
- Experience in publishing technical documents and multimedia products.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Selection Procedure

Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract type: Fixed-term (3 years) with a probation period of 9 months.
- Estimated start date: 16 October 2018.
- Function group and grade: FG IV, grade 13.
- Estimated monthly basic salary: € 3,404.15.
- Remuneration package: Includes expatriation allowance, household allowance, and other benefits depending on the candidate's situation.
- Taxation: Salaries are exempt from national tax, with Union tax at source applied.
