报告摘要
WHO Taskforce of AMR Survivors held its inaugural meeting on 10-11 October 2023 in Geneva, focusing on framing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) issues to mobilize stakeholders and increase commitments, with key speakers urging advocacy through personal experiences. The meeting engaged 11 out of 12 members and set an agenda for patient-centered approaches.
On November 21, 2023, during World AMR Awareness Week, the taskforce organized a webinar titled "The voice of AMR Survivors in awareness and advocacy," drawing 213 participants from 45 countries. Two members shared personal stories, and a panel discussed patient perspectives and barriers to advocacy, leading to strategies to leverage survivor accounts in global policy.
The taskforce produced an introductory video showcasing member experiences and advocacy goals, compiled by Brandon Jaka and Vanessa Carter. Survivor stories were featured in various media outlets, enhancing public awareness of AMR.
Members actively used social media for advocacy and participated in online discussions, with links provided for further engagement. Full inaugural meeting report and webinar recording are available online.
