Core Mission
The Global Leaders Group (GLG) on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) aims to collaborate globally with governments, agencies, civil society, and the private sector through a One Health approach to advise and advocate for political action to mitigate drug-resistant infections by promoting responsible and sustainable access and use of antimicrobials.
Priority 1: Sustained Political Action on AMR
Outcome
AMR is recognized and acted upon as a major threat to health and development in global and national frameworks, with mitigation efforts guided by a One Health approach.
Key Performance Indicators
- AMR is highly prioritized in all relevant international agendas and frameworks.
- Global pandemic treaty includes AMR.
- Percentage of global COVID-19 response and recovery plans that include AMR.
- Number of GLG members attending key events advocating for AMR priorities.

- Mapping and prioritization exercise to identify key opportunities and gaps.
- GLG-commissioned reports and advocacy statements with targeted calls to action.

Priority 2: Transforming Ecosystems for AMR Mitigation
Outcome
Infection prevention and control, including WASH, biosecurity, vaccination, and waste management, are prioritized as interventions to mitigate AMR across all sectors.

- Increased percentage of Tripartite and UNEP products that include IPC and WASH.
- Increased number of countries prioritizing IPC as key interventions.
