报告摘要
Cambodia has a significant cervical cancer burden based on the provided data. In 2020, the crude incidence rate was 14.3 per 100,000 women, with an age-standardized rate of 13.3 per 100,000, indicating a relatively high prevalence. The cumulative risk up to age 74 was 1.5%, and in 2019, there were 45,100 deaths, resulting in a mortality-to-incidence ratio of 0.57. Data shows no population-based cancer registry in 2021, limiting epidemiological surveillance.
For primary prevention, HPV vaccination coverage is very low, with only 6% of eligible girls receiving both doses by 2020, and HPV not included in the national vaccination schedule. Risk factors include low tobacco use prevalence but other factors like HIV (incidence 0.05 per 1000 among women aged 15+) are present.
Secondary prevention involves limited cervical cancer screening, with around 13% of women aged 30-49 years screened in the last 5 years using visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA), and no national program identified in 2021.
Treatment resources are scarce, with few radiotherapy and brachytherapy units available, limited medical staff per 10,000 cancer patients, and national guidelines existing but implementation weak, as key personnel like radiation oncologists are scarce.
Overall, cervical cancer elimination targets for 2030 are not met, with low vaccination and screening coverage, reflecting inadequate public health infrastructure in Cambodia.
