Global Overview (as of 4 Dec 2022)

• Cases: Weekly new cases remained relatively stable (-3% vs previous week), approximately 3 million reported.
• Deaths: Weekly new deaths decreased by 17%, over 7800 reported.
• Cumulative: Total confirmed cases surpassed 641 million, deaths exceeded 6.6 million globally.

Regional Distribution

Five WHO regions saw a decrease or stable weekly cases: African (-78% to -2% respective), South-East Asia (-, unassigned, +3% respective), European (<1% respective), Western Pacific (-10% respective), Eastern Mediterranean (-4% ~ -83% respective for cases/deaths).
The Americas was the only region with an increase (+14% cases, -22% deaths), led by the US, Brazil, and others.

Limited global data (week ending Nov 27). 31 countries reported hospitalizations (~13%), 20 reported ICU admissions (~9%). Uzbekistan, China, Argentina saw significant recent increases in hospitalizations (Uzbekistan, China also ICU increases). Reporting varies significantly by region and country.
