报告摘要
Nauru has a total population of 10,000 and falls into the upper middle income group. Diabetes mortality data is incomplete, with no specified figures for deaths attributable to high blood glucose or proportional mortality. However, diabetes prevalence is high across the population. Among key risk factors, obesity (39.3% for males, 51.1% for females, 45.1% overall) and physical inactivity (44.2% overall) are major issues. There is an existing operational policy for diabetes management, as well as for physical inactivity, but no specific plan for reducing overweight and obesity. National diabetes guidelines are not defined, and while a diabetes registry exists, there is no recent survey including blood glucose measurements. In terms of healthcare access, primary care facilities offer availability for insulin, blood glucose measurement, HbA1c testing, and dilated fundus examination for diabetic retinopathy, indicating some advanced capabilities are present in the public health sector.
