报告摘要
Hypertension burden in the Occupied Palestinian Territory was significant, with an estimated 496.6 thousand adults (20.8% of the adult population) affected in 2011. Awareness, treatment, and control rates were low: about 51.8% were aware of their condition, 50.2% were under treatment, and only 35.0% had controlled hypertension. Age and sex variations showed higher prevalence in older adults and both males and females.
Data gaps exist for national systems response, targets, and trends in uncontrolled hypertension. WHO recommends addressing modifiable risk factors like poor diet, inactivity, and tobacco use, along with improving diagnosis, treatment, and access to essential medicines through initiatives like HEARTS.
