Participants engaged in discussions on system innovations, education system performance, and lessons learned from SABER and PaBER projects. The conference aimed to improve the effectiveness of complex education systems and enhance learning outcomes globally.

Strategic and Policy Outcomes

SABER engagements in the Pacific have led to specific strategic and policy outcomes, including:

• Solomon Islands:

  • Policymakers are using SABER-EMIS findings to develop a National Education Action Plan.
  • The Asian Development Bank is incorporating SABER-EMIS recommendations into its project on Information and Communication Technologies for Better Education Results.
  • The Secretariat of the Pacific Community is using the findings to strengthen capacity building and data collection.
  • SABER-WfD analyses contributed to the creation of a National Human Resources Development and Training Plan (NHRDTP).
  • Diverse stakeholders reviewed findings and set education priorities, which structured the NHRDTP.

• Papua New Guinea, Samoa, and Solomon Islands:

  • SABER-SAA analyses stimulated policy dialogue among stakeholders.
  • Recommendations from these analyses have informed the Education Sector Strategy Updates in these countries.
