报告摘要
The report analyzes trends in agency compensation methods based on a survey of 101 client-side marketers and qualitative interviews. Fee-based compensation dominates (82% usage), with labor-based fees remaining most popular overall, but fixed/output-based fees increasing significantly for large advertisers (53% vs. 5% in 2016). Performance incentives are declining (41% use), attributed to complexity, attribution challenges, and low confidence in their effectiveness, with incentives accounting for less than 5% of compensation. Despite high satisfaction (85%) with current methods, 51% of respondents plan to change compensation agreements, driven by agency performance issues, staffing, or business conditions. Marketers with smaller budgets are more likely to change approach. Future trends show a continued preference for fee-based models, with recommendations emphasizing simplicity, clarity, and test-and-learn strategies for performance incentives.
