Global IPO Trends in Q1 2013

- CMTECH Investment in PolyCap: In January 2013, CMTECH, CMTECH Fund, and Tianjin Venture Capital jointly invested in Shenzhen PolyCapy Electronics Technology Co., Ltd., which merged with Gu'An FuAi Electronics Co., Ltd. The new company will continue using both "PolyCap" and "FuAi" brands. Wang Binhua was appointed as the President and General Manager.
- SMC Capital China Invests in SENYINT: SMC Capital China, a member of Simon Murray Group, invested RMB30 million in Dalian SENYINT Digital Medical System Co., Ltd. at the end of March 2013, aiming to develop a top IT-based comprehensive medical solution provider in China.
- MiaoZhen Systems Completes Series C Financing: MiaoZhen Systems, an advertising technology company, raised tens of millions of US dollars in its Series C round. The investment was led by CBC and joined by Redpoint, KPCB, and WPP Digital. The company, established in 2006 and based in Beijing, has over 280 full-time employees and operates in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Singapore, serving markets in Taiwan, Japan, and Australia.
- Dongguan Hongtu Fund Established: On April 10, 2013, the Dongguan Hongtu Fund, with a size of RMB500 million, was officially established in the Songshan Lake Science & Technology Industry Park. It is the first government-guided fund in Dongguan and part of the overall RMB2 billion Dongguan Industry Upgrading and Venture Capital Guidance Fund. The fund was co-established by seven institutions, including government guidance funds, SSL Holding Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Capital Group, and other private capitals.
- Giant Interactive Group Launches “Pleb Dream Fund”: On April 9, 2013, Giant Interactive Group announced the establishment of the “Pleb Dream Fund” with an initial investment of RMB1 million. The fund aims to support individuals (plebs) with ideas to realize their dreams. The project team of World of Sword will manage the fund and open a special column on its official website. A monthly award fund will be granted starting from RMB1,000, with no upper limit.
