Background

The World Health Organization (WHO) established the Universal Health and Preparedness Review (UHPR) Technical Advisory Group (TAG) in October 2021. This group consists of 21 technical experts selected to guide the development of the UHPR, focusing on methodologies for assessing health emergency preparedness, indicators, and the structure of supranational commissions. The TAG was convened to support Member States in the review process and ensure that the UHPR is evidence-based, logical, and appropriate for measuring health emergency preparedness globally.

The TAG is also responsible for providing feedback and outcomes from the UHPR pilot phase and refining technical content to be presented at the 75th World Health Assembly in 2022.
