报告摘要
Latin America faces a pressing need to boost productivity and industrial competitiveness through smart manufacturing, which integrates advanced digital technologies. Despite challenges like low labor productivity, outdated production systems, and limited technology diffusion, the region has begun exploring initiatives to promote Industry 4.0. Key barriers include lack of awareness, high costs, insufficient connectivity, and inadequate talent, but case studies from countries like Mexico, Brazil, and Uruguay show potential through programs such as Nuevo Leon 4.0, SENAI 4.0, and CAIME. An agenda emphasizing awareness-raising, last-mile connectivity, cyber-resilience, affordability for SMEs, support for startups, capability development, and stakeholder collaboration can drive transformative change. Smart manufacturing offers not just efficiency gains but also opportunities for inclusive development and regional industrial revitalization.
