US liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports have surged over the past decade, raising concerns about their impact on domestic natural gas prices and methane emissions. This paper analyzes the economic implications of increased export demand on oil and gas supply and methane emissions, addressing debates on whether LNG exports contribute more to emissions than coal.

- Each additional 1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of gas export demand increases domestic natural gas prices by approximately 2.5% while modestly reducing crude oil prices by 0.5% due to coproduced oil.
