报告摘要
Latin America has significant potential for sustainable development due to its rich renewable energy resources and abundant critical minerals, but it must address challenges like economic fragility, climate change impacts, and risks of resource-dependent enclaves. Achieving green transition requires strategic policy diversification, focusing on industrial, trade, and investment measures to foster regional integration and South-South cooperation. Key challenges include environmental risks from mining, technological uncertainties in mineral supply, and the need for equitable distribution. Opportunities lie in leveraging renewable energy and mineral wealth to accelerate SDG progress, supported by active green industrial policies and enhanced financial and technological collaboration at regional and international levels. UNCTAD recommends strengthening coordinated policies, improving climate resilience through international mechanisms, and fostering regional ecosystems for low-carbon technologies.
Key Recommendations: Implement strategic economic diversification; promote regional partnerships; ensure policy support for green industrialization; address distributional impacts and financing gaps.
