No change in overall public health risk; sustained human-to-human transmission remains unlikely.

Human cases reported:
- Two cases of avian influenza A(H5) virus infection.
- One case of avian influenza A(H3N8) virus infection.
- One case of influenza A(H1N1) variant virus infection.

Avian Influenza A(H5) Viruses: Low likelihood of sustained human-to-human transmission; sporadic cases expected due to animal circulation. No evidence of widespread spread in the recent US case in Colorado.
Avian Influenza A(H3N8) Viruses: Risk not excluded but low; investigation ongoing for a China case. Susceptible to change with more data.
Swine Influenza Viruses: Low transmission risk; guidance to avoid contact with pigs and contaminated environments.

Maintain global surveillance for virologic and epidemiologic changes.
Travellers advised to avoid areas with animal influenza outbreaks, practice hygiene, and report new subtypes under IHR (2005).
Ongoing collaboration between human and animal health sectors.
