From the Field

- Nepal: Launched a COVID-19 vaccination campaign for children aged 5–11 years in 27 districts, aiming to reach 70% coverage by mid-2022. Used schools as vaccination sites and engaged health workers and volunteers for awareness.
- Fiji: Implemented social listening to counter misinformation during surges. A communication campaign featuring health workers and testimonials boosted vaccine uptake, leading to near-90% vaccination among eligible populations by mid-2022.
- Togo: Leveraged community dialogue and traditional leaders to enhance COVID-19 vaccination coverage in the Grand-Lomé region. Each traditional chief vaccinated and disseminated timely information, increasing coverage from 5.6% to 25.4%.
- Palau: Established the first national Emergency Medical Team (EMT) named Team Klemat, trained for rapid response. 18 health professionals will mobilize within hours with self-sufficient equipment.
- Tonga: Conducted simulations during the COVID-19 response to strengthen the capacity of the National Health Service Laboratory.
