▪ Geographic Summary
- Southern Hemisphere: In temperate zones, mild increases were noted globally. Australia saw sharp rises in A (mostly A(H3N2)) and RSV; some cases of SARI in NZ, with coinfection noted. South Africa reported increased detections, but COVID-19 amplified sharply. South America: activity decreased in Argentina/Paraguay but increased in Chile/Uruguay. RSV picked up considerably.
- Tropical Countries: Most places reported low activity, dominated by A(H3N2). Countries like El Salvador/Nicaragua saw some increases.
- Northern Hemisphere: Activity continued to decline in both North America and Europe. Rates also remained low in Asia and Africa. Europe saw below-epidemic-threshold positivity; in North America, positivity was higher than usual but activity was decreasing. RSV remained low.

- Overall COVID-19 positivity from sentinel surveillance was rising during the period (around 30% globally), more so in the Americas (around 20-30%) and Western Pacific (around 30%), than other regions (below 10%).
