Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) is developing a "Measurement Guide on Female Genital Mutilation" for the health sector to address limitations in current data collection for female genital mutilation (FGM). WH developed this guide based on country experiences and expert consultations to strengthen data-driven responses to FGM.

It focuses on generating FGM data for planning, monitoring, evaluation, quality assurance, and research within health systems.

Key Outputs: Includes a step-by-step guide for developing FGM measurement models, a standardized set of indicators to enhance data comparability over time and across countries, and integration with other WHO tools for sexual and reproductive health surveillance.
