Saint Lucia Immunization Coverage Estimates (2011-2022)
Based on data collected by WHO and UNICEF, this report presents estimated immunization coverage rates for Saint Lucia from 2011 to 2022. Key vaccines and estimates are listed below, along with grade of confidence (GoC) indicators. Discrepancies may exist between the GoC assessments and national official data estimations.
Vaccines
* BCG: 1st dose Hepatitisis
* High estimates (88-108%) reported annually from 2013 onwards, except 2018.
* GoC:•••(Well supported) 2011-2018,2022.•• (At least one data source) also noted.
* DTP1: 1st dose Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis-containing vaccine
* High estimates (89-101%) reported from 2011-2015, with a low 88% in 2018 and fluctuations due to small birth cohorts in some years.
* DTP3: 3rd dose Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis-containing vaccine
* High estimates (80-99%) reported across most years, with a low 75% in 2022 (anomaly) and fluctuations in 2017.
* Pol3: 3rd dose Polio-containing vaccine (Reflects Polio coverage)
* High estimates (80-99%) across most years, with a low 75% in 2022 and lower estimates in 2018 and mid-2011.
* IPV1: 1st dose Inactivated Polio Vaccine (Introduced 2015)
* No data before 2015. High estimates (75-99%) from 2017 onwards, with lower estimates in initial years and 2018.
* MCV1: 1st dose Measles-containing vaccine
* High estimates (81-99%) reported from 2011-2022, with a low 77% in 2021.
* MCV2: 2nd dose Measles-containing vaccine
* Moderate estimates (63-86%) reported. This vaccine relies on estimates of MCV1 in 2019-2022.
* RCV1: 1st dose Rubella-containing vaccine
* Moderate estimates (hypothetical) based on MCV1, showing high coverage similar to MCV1 rates.
* HepBB: Hepatitisis B birth dose
* Covers 2018-2022. Good estimate by late 2020 (86-94%). Note: No 2014-2017 data.
* HepBs3: 3rd dose Hepatitisis B-containing vaccine
* High coverage estimates (80-99%) reported consistently.
Data Constraints
- Many estimates lack nationally representative surveys (< 84 samples available).`
- Data sources are reported, sometimes challenged, or inferring data.`
Data Quality
- Overall data quality is considered good for most estimates (GoC
••or•••).` - Warnings, challenges, and disruptions (stockouts, supply issues, reporting variability) are noted on individual estimates where applicable.`
Disclaimer: All data provided are estimates and should be used with caution and context.
