Smokeless tobacco is the third most widely used tobacco form in Egypt, following cigarettes and shisha. Approximately 3% of the Egyptian population uses it, with higher rates among males (5.5%) in urban areas compared to females (0.6%). Usage is more common among those with primary education (4.4%) than university graduates (1.6%), and the highest concentrations are in highly urbanized cities and rural Upper Egypt, at 3% and 3.5% respectively.
