报告摘要
Niger Cervical Cancer Profile Summary
-
Morbidity and Mortality: High cervical cancer incidence at 5.2 per 100,000 women (2020), with 490 deaths in 2019 and a mortality-to-incidence ratio of 0.76. Age-standardized incidence was 10.4 per 100,000.
-
Primary Prevention: HPV vaccination coverage is low, with less than 20% first-dose coverage among 9-14-year-old girls, and no inclusion in the national vaccination schedule. Coverage by age 15 is unavailable. Risk factors include low tobacco use (0.06%, 2020) and limited HIV incidence data (2020); condom use data is outdated (2012).
-
Secondary Prevention: No national cervical cancer screening program exists (as of 2021). Among women aged 30-49, only about 8-10% report ever being screened, and fewer than one in ten have been screened in the last five years.
-
Treatment and Care: Limited resources; fewer radiotherapy and brachytherapy units per 10,000 cancer patients. National guidelines exist for management, but healthcare services are insufficient, with scarce specialized staff and facilities. Palliative care is not generally available in primary health care.
-
WHO Elimination Strategy: Significant gaps towards 2030 targets, including very low vaccination (1% coverage by age 15) and screening rates, as well as poor access to cancer treatment. Data is restricted for some indicators, such as opioid consumption.
