报告摘要
New Zealand Immigration has announced significant increases to visa lodgment fees effective from 1 October 2024. Most visa categories are affected, with some fees more than doubled. Key changes include:
- Accredited Employer Work Visa: from NZD 750 to NZD 1,540
- Specific Purpose Work Visa: from NZD 700 to NZD 1,355
- Partner Work Visa: from NZD 860 to NZD 1,630
- Skilled Residence Visa: from NZD 4,290 to NZD 6,450
- Active Investor Plus Visa: from NZD 7,900 to NZD 27,470
These increases are part of a government strategy to recover processing costs and transition to a "user-pays" system, reducing taxpayer subsidies by NZD 563 million over four years. The higher fees will raise costs for employers, particularly for international assignments, local hires of foreign workers, and supporting residence applications. KPMG recommends employers review and expedite visa applications before the effective date to mitigate impacts. Visas for applicants from Pacific countries may remain subsidized.
