It assesses the prevalence of tobacco use and evaluates five key determinants that influence youth tobacco behavior: access/availability and price, exposure to secondhand smoke (SHS), cessation, media and advertising, and school curriculum. Conclusion
The GYTS highlights the need for targeted tobacco control programs in the Gaza Strip UNRWA, particularly focusing on reducing access to tobacco products, increasing awareness of the dangers of SHS, and strengthening school-based education. The survey also underscores the influence of media and peer behavior on youth smoking habits, suggesting the importance of comprehensive interventions to address these factors.
